Very authentic sounds and easy to get the results I want.

This is simply the best guitar FX processor I have ever owned. I’ve been recording music for 20+ years and never had this kind of processing power from just one unit. Sound quality is off charts, amp and cab modeling is unparalleled and the small pedal format is great if you are using it in the studio, even in live situations. Control software is great. Overall, nothing you can’t get done with it, every effect you can image can be done in it.

Simply amazing! This has by far been the best purchase I’ve made. I was thinking about getting a Kemper, then took the chance on the FM3 and I’m sure glad I did. The tone out of the amps, cabs and effects are outstanding. If you’re thinking about a product of this platform, look no further. The FM3 is the only product you need for recording or live performance!

I am blown away by this unit…not the easiest to wrap your head around but thanks to the plethora of resources I have been able to dial in some great tones pretty quickly. there I almost an overload of stuff here but man it awesome!!! love the footprint. Thanks to the R&D team!

Great sounding unit that can be used as a stand alone live rig or integrated into a larger pedalboard system. I’m an older player who started with tube amps, went through my 80’s/90’s rack phase but came back to the traditional tube amps and pedals for the last 15 years. I was reluctant to buy/try Fractal and other modeling tech because I was happy with what I had but a great price on a used AX8 (and watching Leon Todd and Pete Thorn) was the gateway to picking up a new FM3 recently.

Integrating the FM3 with my on-stage tube amp (PC Pearl) and pedalboard system now allows me to control and send sound to a combination of stage monitors, IEM, and/or direct to FOH sound while having some stage volume from a real amp. This is my sweet spot for integrating modern technology with a traditional tube amp and pedalboard set up. The overall sound, flexibility, capabilities and reliability is the best my system has been. Truly a professional sounding piece of gear with an equally impressive build.

So many presets and things you can do with this unit. The possibilities are endless.

Yes, it is a bit cumbersome to get around but NOT if you do your homework and it is 1000% WORTH IT!! Amazing sounds and a hellava deal!! Overnight shipping on a Friday is a joke, even gouging WITH the disclaimer but the Fractal is amazing!

Superior sound quality, built like a tank and portable. Love this thing.

Overall it is an impressive piece of gear. The difference is immediately perceivable compared to other good modelers. It would be great if you could improve the rat distortion, especially the filter knob, to make it sound more like the real pedal.

I recently ordered the FM3 direct from fractal audio and I’m blown away by how good it is. I started off with a used Axe fx 2 mark 2 and although I loved it the FM3 is far better. The amps sound better, the effects sound better, and it’s easier to menu dive than the axe fx 2. I got this to pair up with an MPC so I could use it as a mobile recording rig to play gigs with and I can’t tell you how happy I am with it. Eventually I’m gonna get an Axe Fx 3 for home use and either pair the FM3 with an amp or use it with my synth set up. Either way I’m keeping this forever. I recommend fractal audio to anyone wanting to get into the modeling world.

I should have purchased the FM3 sooner. I am currently using my Boutique amp as a power amp to now finally get the sounds I have been searching for from the FM3. I have not even scratched the surface of the FM3 to unlock all the features and power this unit has. I am a fan for life and using now the Fractal products

This thing has an amazing amount of power and possibilities. Just playing with the presets gets the creative juices flowing and the sounds are clean and pure. Fractal Audio is hands down the best producer of pro level processors. They are also a great company with support second to none.

I’m now in my mid-50’s and have been playing guitar for decades. I sold my Marshall plexi because it is just too heavy and loud. I bought this product to give the Fractal products a try (and some of my favorite artists like Devin Townsend swear by them) and couldn’t be more impressed. I was happy from the moment I powered the unit on and super impressed with the awesome presets. Wow. I still have a lot to learn about this product but couldn’t be happier with the investment. The sound is incredible and the “tube chirp” is all there – sounding completely authentic. Great work Fractal Audio!

Amazing little machine . Moved from the Line6 Helix to this and am absolutely blown away.

This thing sounded amazing right out of the box on both my studio monitors and my Deluxe Reverb (with the FM3 Amp and Can disabled easily in global settings). I’ve tried the other “line” of modeling amps and was disgusted by their poor sound quality and didn’t want to spend the rest of my life tweaking settings to get something usable.

This device is also super flexible, lots of inputs/outputs. I was easily able to add a controller for wah/volume and figured out how to set up a double switch without much trouble.

Right outa the box and very impressed, gonna be busy for days, love it, very versatile and inspiring. Connected to tube amp I hardly use and now my favorite.

Solid Presets. Excellent I/O

If you want the best tone, feel, and flexibility this is the product. Nothing else comes close. It can be as simple or as complex as you like. Take your time and learn what it can do. At first I struggled a little but once I came up to speed I quickly found it did everything I wanted and more. I’ve never had my guitar sound and feel this good.

New user to fm3, so far an outstanding product. SO MUCH better than Headrush Pedalboard! One note to new users is to go to sign up for Cooper Carters FM3 Masterclass it is well worth the price.

I’ve had my FM3 unit since March of 2021, and I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. It meets or exceeds every single expectation that I had, and it was also the final step in downsizing my once-cumbersome 4×12/rack/pedalboard live setup. Now my entire rig, literally, fits in the front seat of my car. Zero regrets, and I’m never going back to a full amp/cabinet rig again. FIVE STARS!!!

I am a bass player in a working band, and I’ve gone thru several versions of bass rigs I’ve the past 10 years or so. Most things have been bulky, modular systems that fall short in one way or another. My most reliable system to date has been an ampeg tube combo, but last summer I had my tubes go bad, and with the addition of in ear monitors, I decided to give an amp modeler a shot.

Got my FM3 on Saturday and brought it to a friend’s house to dial in some tones and get acquainted with it. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to get a great sound with this unit. I’m amazed at what this can do and I hope to play several hundred shows with it. Can’t wait for rehearsal tomorrow!

I have tried modeling hardware and software with decent results. Fractal feels miles ahead of the pack. In my opinion, this is largely because of how fractal hardware handles the analog input and gain stage. “In the box” plugins simply cannot do that. FM3 is surprisingly great as a pedal platform as well. Very impressed.

While waiting for my FM9 invitation I decided to go with this deal and I’m so glad I did! This is the best my sound has ever been. Fractal have really outdone themselves with deal and for the money, I don’t think this deal can be beat. I’ve owned modelers from the two of the other big competitors and the tones in the FM3 blow them out of the water. Thank you FAS for making such awesome products!!

This is the best piece of gear I’ve ever owned. It’s incredibly versatile, tonally and functionally. Hooked it up to my tube amp with the four cable method, works flawlessly. Works as an interface with low latency. Creating presets with FM3 edit provides a nice workflow, and it’s also built like a tank. Definitely would recommend.

I have had the FM3 unit a few weeks now, absolutely beyond what I thought was possible in a unit which I could have in my home. It just sounds professional. Awesome job Fractal Audio.

As an at home guitarist, I enjoy the FM3’s size and capabilities. It’s everything I need in an amp modeler. I highly recommend the FM3 to anyone who has limited space.

..and believe you me, I had high apple pie in the sky hopes! My favorite go to gain tone is the triple Rectifier. Fractal’s amps don’t just, sound close, they sound TRUE! I A/B’d with my triple recto, and was stunned. None of the other modelers out there‚ “yes, I tried them all” did this for me. They might sound good, but Fractal’s have a genuine character that made me see the competitions sound as sadly generic. Glad I took the leap on Fractal, and I look forward to the day I can afford an AXE and FS.

A friend of mine told me about this unit months ago. I saw the price and thought there was no way I would spend this kind of money on a product like this, nor did I see a need for it. Last week he brought his over for me to try. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, I have written 30 to 40 original songs. I wrote and recorded one complete song and another part of a song in the matter of hours of using the FM3. I have never had a recording sound this good! I used compression and EQ while mixing because that was all that was needed. Thank you for creating such a great product.

I actually sent back a Quad Cortex and picked this up instead. I am so glad I did. A bit of a learning curve but there is a $99 course worth buying on this product. Amp sounds and effects are off the chart in this unit.

Amazing! I was a Line 6 / Helix user for years and finally made the switch. I can’t deny it, the modeling in the FM3 is just better. Attack, feel, ambience and transparency are all noticeably improved over other modelers. Love the effects as well!!

I have tried every processor out there boss gt1000 core ,headrush, HX stomp and nothing comes close to the fractal fm3 the sound ,feel and mostly power I can’t recommend this rig enough! Fractal rocks

The FM3 blew me away. I sold off most of my pedals and a Strymon iridium to jump into the fractal ecosystem and it was worth it. I’ve been able to dial in every kind of amp I could ever want and most of the effects I used are right there. Being able to change components (transistor) in the drive module is so dang cool. It’s a big purchase but if you’ve got the fever for great this system is the cure. Great forums and support. I’ll recommend to everyone everyday.

I previously had the axe standard that I bought used on a whim and loved it, this device tho is a whole other beast. I dl some artists packs and the tones are other worldly, the ease of use and the compact nature is something you guys should be proud of. you guys are the leaders for a reason!

The FM3 right out of the box is impressive and when plugged in is Outstanding, and is sure to Wow any previous Fractal owners! I’m a touring musician who needs something reliable and easy for traveling, that has a small footprint. Verdict on the FM3: I dialed in a competent Rectifier sound in less than 10min. I never managed such good sound with any modelers, incl. software modelers, I used before – and definitely not in less than 10min.

I was skeptical about all the Axe/FM3 hype, but this stuff is legit and just sounds great.

And all that for less money than a decent valve head.

I’m up to the listening to factory presets and some manual work and I just downloaded the editor, and so far… holy cow!! Beyond what I thought it would be!

This product is incredible. I have owned Helix and Kemper and they do not come close to what Fractal Audio does. Their amp modelling is on another level. The Fm3 build quality is incredible and the sound is in a league of its own. Great effects and features. The customer service is absolutely fantastic. I will continue to purchase Fractal products in the future. What I like most about Fractal is the constant move forward in updates and amp modelling. They are not content with their current achievements. I respect that and look for that in the products I purchase.

Wow, just wow. I’ve always been interested in Fractal products for years, but the learning curve always intimidated me. After trying other modelers and various other platforms, I figured I’d try the FM3. After owning it a week, I was understanding how to use it somewhat fluently. There’s still lot to learn, but it’s worth the extra brain power! I recorded a little bit with some stock presets, and the quality in the recordings were just as great as micing up your favorite head and cab.

I have been waiting forever before finally jumping into the Fractal world. The FM3 made this decision easy. The sounds are out of this world REAL and versatility is off the charts. I wasted so much time…now I’m catching up with the FM3

I was used to using a competitor’s modeling product for years and bought an FM3 out of curiosity. I figured I would sell it if I didn’t like it. I’m keeping the FM3. Incredible sound quality and feel. Really enjoying the unit!

I definitely enjoyed my first moments with the FM3. The presets still sound amazing, the portability is perfect for throwing this in a backpack with a laptop for a portable setup, and it looks beautiful. I only rate it 4 stars since it is a bit trickier when going from Axe Fx 3 to this due to the CPU change. However, aside from that, I still believe this is a solid portable option and product from Fractal!

Impressive array of amp and cabinet models! Effects seem rock solid in comparison to both stomp boxes and other integrated processor units. The unit is incredibly powerful while remaining easy to use. The depth of the user controls is mind boggling! I am still experimenting creating both programs existing tones and exploring new ones as well. Thank you Fractal Audio for pushing my audio boundaries to incredible new heights.

Extremely happy to be back with Fractal. The FM3 is amazing ! It’s definitely a high quality piece of gear. The factory presets are incredible but need a little tweaking to use in a live situation. The presets sound great on their own but they are a bit heavy on the bottom for live use. FM3 Edit is easy and fun to work with and the amount of information and support that is available from Fractal and the Fractal community is invaluable and one of the reasons I returned to Fractal after parting ways with my beloved Axe II. I can’t wait to get back out and gig with it.

This is my first Fractal product and I have to say it is a very impressive black box for your guitar. It has pretty much any effect you can think of including a pig effect . The amount of parameters you can adjust is astonishing. You can make dialing in a tone as complicated as you want or just plug in play as the presets are fantastic plus it is a complete audio interface too. Although I have not had to use it Fractal support seems to be very responsive and genuine. The forum is very active and full of answers for any questions. Overall excellent product for the price. Thank you.

I have only had this unit for about a week, but so far it has surpassed even my greatest expectations. This is my first time owning a Fractal product, so I was a bit nervous that it would be too much to handle. The depth and flexibility are absolutely astounding, but at the same time it feels very user-friendly and not at all overwhelming, so my fears were 100% unfounded. I feel like I have much yet to learn, and have only begun to scratch the surface on what this thing is capable of, but I have no doubt this will be part of my arsenal for many years to come.

So far I have only edited presets directly on the device, and have not utilized the available Axe-Edit software, though I do plan to go down that road at some point.

I’m currently running this through a Headrush FRFR-112, and the output is incredible. I have done some light recording as well, and so far I have not been disappointed.

I now understand fully what all of the hype is about, and I would absolutely recommend the FM3 without any hesitation!!!

Coming from an Axe FX 2, I wasn’t expecting a huge jump, but this thing is a notable difference on the newest firmware as of 2/13/21. The tone I got for the Rectifier in a lot of ways sounds better than the actual triple rectifier that I owned. The fact I can move it in front of me for easier edit features, I’d say the jump is like going from the 20th to 21st century in technology.

I finally decided to purchase a Fractal modeler. I used it in sessions the first day and for a solid month after that. It has proven to be an incredible tool that feels real. That’s the part that blew me away. I caught myself thinking there was a cabinet in the other room. So far it’s amazing and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Love it

I am upgrading from a Behringer V-Amp Pro, which I had gotten some real good tones out of. I’m happy I was able to get a very comparable metal sound out of it, since most rectifier models are flubby sounding when palm muting (Angle Severe and a few other models can hit the mark for me). The flexibility of this thing is pretty amazing. I was hesitant when deciding between this and the Axe-Fx III, but I’m only hitting 50% CPU most of the time, so it has plenty of horsepower for me. Another hesitation I had was the presumptive difficulty of using it, but as long as you read the manual you can program it just fine, I haven’t even touched FM3 Edit on a computer yet.

This thing is pure magic. I can’t believe how good it sounds. It’s amazing.

My tone will NEVER be the same!! AMAZING quality of sound and signal….I am going to purchase another unit for our other guitar player because I cannot tolerate the inferior sound quality of amp models and effects coming from anything other than a Fractal Audio processor!!

Outstanding product! The amp models alone are worth the price, as they are spot on and the tones are instantly recognizable from professional recordings. Throw in the drives, modulation, pitch, delays and reverbs (the best I’ve used) and I’d put this unit up as the best value on the current market. I wasn’t sure 3 switches would be enough but routing was intelligently done, and the use of colored surrounds on the switches lets you know at a glance if you are in preset, scene, or effect switching mode, and are brighter when effect is selected as opposed to bypassed in effect mode. Brilliant. I lose myself for hours exploring the capability of this unit, and feel the professional sound quality at this price point can’t be beat.

As a long time tube amp player (orange, Marshall, Mesa, Carr, Fender, Vox…) I wanted to find a lighter weight solution. I have tried Helix, Kemper, and Axe fx 1 and 3 as well as the ax8 and fx8. I love the Axe fx family of gear. They are the only ones that handle the high gain mesa boogie thump along with edge of break up and rock ‘n’ roll tones and clean tones with the clarity and realism that I love. Don’t get me wrong, the other units are nice and they all sound great, but I have not found any other modeler that can touch the high gain Mesa sound and feel with such perfection. I am retiring my AX8 as the FM3 is the perfect replacement and at the lower weight! Thanks Fractal!!!

Never used a fractal product before, many reviews describe the steep learning-curve, but after a day of messing with it I find it is very easy to navigate and figure out. It sounds better than any other modeler I tried – by far. It works really well with my FRFR speaker/system – no latency issues or “cracks/pops” in the DAW I use – runs quiet etc. I have zero complaints about the unit, looking forward to testing it out in different situations and playing with the seemingly endless combinations.

I love everything about the FM3. The only thing I would like to see come to the fractal universe is the ability to have sitar sounds

The easiest path to great tone I’ve experienced across any modeling platform. It just sounds so authentic, and it has a very realistic feel as well. I love this thing. My other modeler is gone…it’s a great unit too, but this just makes my life so much easier. Cannot recommend it strongly enough.

After months of patiently waiting I finally received my FM3. This is my first Fractal product. I have only had my FM3 for a few days, but I may be totally converted to the digital world – no more buying traditional tube amps for me. This piece of gear is a bit overwhelming to dive into at first, but the more I tinker with it, the more straightforward it seems. There are plenty of youtube videos/tutorials out there. The tones are incredible, and I can get any sound I’ve ever dreamed of, and do so at super quiet, apartment appropriate volume levels – I should note that I am running my FM3 through a pair of powered studio monitors. I really dig the software editor, it’s a lot of fun to play around with, and I dig how the FM3 connects to it seamlessly via USB. Overall I feel more inspired to play and practice. Anytime a “new” tube amp comes out, I don’t know whether to laugh, or yawn with distaste, because the FM3 can do it.

I can’t say enough about the FM3. I can now have any tone I’ve ever wanted. These amps are incredible. I’ve owned or had access to a few amps in my life, particularly the JCM 800 which I own now, the silver jubilee and fender bassman and can’t believe its not those amps as a play the FM3. This is my first Fractal product and wow, you guys are, I don’t even know what else to say but thank you.

This thing is unbelievable. I’ve been looking into amp modeling for years and never been sure how I felt. My dad has a Helix that is pretty nice but I was never confident that it would be what I was looking for. After I got my purchase invite, I decided to give the FM3 a shot and it has blown me away. The interface isn’t as easy to use as the Helix, but I’m slowly figuring it out and learning what it’s capable of.

I have owned 11 Rack, Line6 Pod, Stomp, many Boss multi-effects.. Nothing comes close to the Fractal architecture! Its the only modeler I have used that has the feel and dynamics of a real amp!!!

I had another device and this is the best sounds and dynamic, perfect for any situation

I have been a Fractal User since 2007. I have been using an Axe-Fx ultra in the studio for the whole time. The FM3 gets me my tones faster, easier and everything is cleaner and fuller. FM3 edit is almost perfect, maybe I’m just still in The learning curve. My only regret is maybe I should get the Axe-Fx III. Thank you to all the Fractal Audio System team. You make the music in my head a reality. It’s worth every penny…

I’m always tweaking knobs buying pedal, IRs, and presets. This unit is all I need nothing more! At this point every update is just bonus. I literally set it and forget! My tone sounds perfect ALWAYS!

Congrats to the Fractal audio team for putting out such a great product. For me the Axe FX is out of my budget range and the FM3 is well within.

Actually better than anticipated. The sounds are incredible, but the feel is so close to the real thing that it’s spooky. As simple or complicated as you want it to be. A fabulous toolbox and worth every penny.

Still learning to navigate but I’ve only had it for a week and haven’t even used FM3 edit yet. Navigating on the board seems very straight forward.

I’ve had it less than a day and I’m already floored. Not only are the models and blocks rich and detailed, the hardware is top-notch and the software is incredibly flexible yet reasonably intuitive. I’ve only scratched the surface but I can tell this will keep me busy and satisfied for years. Coming from tube amps, pedals, and more primitive modelers, this feels several generations better. Can’t recommend it strongly enough for bedroom warriors like myself or pros.

I’ve only had my FM3 for a week and I’m in love with it. The sound quality is superb. Feels just like playing a real amp. I’m a bedroom rocker who mainly plays with software amp modelers like Bias FX, so the ability to play quietly but still sound massive is such a treat. I feel like I went from MS Paint to Photoshop in terms of quality and options. Can’t say anything bad about this thing. Thank you Fractal!

This is my first Fractal product, and while I’m sure it’s not as powerful as the Axe-Fx III, it absolutely does the job for me. Great sounds and interface, well built.

I was using line 6 helix before. Once I plugged in the FM3 I was blown away. I could hear right away that this little box is on another level. Thank you Fractal audio!!

LOVE IT

Tones don’t get any better or realistic in any other modeler. Amps, drives, verbs, delays, and everything else you could dream of are all better than the rest. Been there and done that with all of them. Still wrapping my head around the foot switches but can you complain about having options? Not really. Glad to have found my way back to the Fractal universe after being lost in the ether for a while.

First, I gotta say, This is my first Fractal product…I am coming from a Helix…I never could get any modeler to sound exactly like I wanted it to….Until now…I am completely blown away…The FM3 is one of those pieces of gear that just blows your mind and changes everything….I own 3 of the amps that are modeled in the FM3,and they are so close, you can’t tell them apart…..The FM3 breathes and feels like the real thing….Super impressed with this thing….I was on the waitlist a long time to get this….but it was worth every minute of it….I am just scratching the surface of what this thing can do….Grab one of these, you won’t be sorry..

I got Fractaled years ago now… nearly 10, if I remember correctly. Started with the II, and enjoyed the development of that pioneering product. The AX8 has fulfilled my needs for many years recently. But, I really wanted to hear the newest developments for myself, and in an even more compact unit. Well folks, this does the job in spades! If I ever need to, I can always add an FC. But really, for my limited needs, 3 buttons and an EV pedal or 2 covers it. The updated scribble screens and display are the icing on the cake. Plug and play at indoor stage volume was a real eye-opener. No tweaking the presets delivered some great sounds. Amp in the room? YUP! Highly recommended!

Unbelievable sound quality. If you’re in the market for a modeler there is none better

I’ve had my FM3 for almost 5 days now and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with my purchase. I currently own an axe fx ultra and an axe fx II Mark II, so I was very excited to get my hands on the FM3. First off, showed up in 3 days, and I live in the barren tundra of Canada. Baller.

Second, looks dope. It’s sturdy feeling, really light. The screen is great, bright, and I enjoy the look of the interface. Using the interface is a large part of the fun for me , so as a primarily AXE EDIT user, it’s really nice to have the color screen available for editing. All the knobs and buttons work great, and also seem very sturdy.

Third, but ya know, probably first, is DAT SOUND. It just sounds amazing, straight up. Through my FRFR or my studio monitors, it just rips. Plus, with all the amp models/cab sims/effects, It’s basically for every genre. You a Dj0n1 boi? Perhaps a shredette? Heck you wanna play amps yer granpappy did? It’s all there. Which is basically what makes this unit so magical. The quality, the size, the sounds, the PRICE.

Overall, 10/10 would bang.

I got this to complement my Axe-Fx III. It sounds exactly the same, which is to say… FLAWLESS. Fractal has the best sounding and best feeling guitar products in the game. Nothing else even comes close.

This floor unit is an absolute game-changer. It’s small enough to fit in a backpack, and can replace an entire rack case of outboard gear. Even though it’s just 3 switches, the default layout is incredibly well thought out and perfectly usable right out of the box.

If you’re on the fence about the FM3, take the plunge. You won’t regret it.

Best traveling gear I’ve ever owned!

The FM-3 is the best purchase I’ve made since my Axe FX 3. It sounds IDENTICAL to me, but for doing fly-out gigs, it’s wonderful to get all that tone and functionality in a unit that I can fit into my backpack. I’m using scene toggle switching so I get everything I need with these 3 switches. I couldn’t be happier and neither could my sound man who has been bragging about “his guitar sound” ever since I brought out my first Fractal box (the Axe FX 2, and then the AX-8). Thanks FAS!!!
